Culture of Learning
Standard #23 [Tier 1]: The library allows the director to participate in continuing education opportunities during their work time and Standard #28 [non-tiered]: The library allows staff at all levels (other than director) to participate in continuing education opportunities during their work time. Boards need to be mindful that, when staff education is a job expectation, then it follows that authorizing staff to attend classes, conferences, webinars, etc must be allowed to take place on library time.
