Pages & Play Club
The Oelwein Public Library offers a weekly Pages & Play Club for 3-5 year olds with Miss Katie on each Wednesday at 10:00 am. This event meets in the library's meeting room.  Contact Katie by email at kschuelke@oelwein.lib.ia.us or by calling the library at 319-283-1515 with any questions.
We will read a story and share fun activities.

 

Theme Thursdays
This is an after school program every Thursday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. 
Theme Thursdays is intended for elementary and secondary children. Each week will be different theme and activity. Lego Club will feature the 2nd Thursday of the month.

 

Summer Reading Program is offered every year in June.

It’s never too early—or too late—to set goals for staying independent in mid and later life. Learn about the benefits of eating well and moving more, avoiding fraud and scams, planning for future housing and care needs, and more! The Fayette County Extension will host a Stay Independent series of programs for Seniors over 60 during September through December. These programs are FREE and meet once per month in the library's meeting room for one hour.

Intended audience: Adults age 60 or older
Format: 1-hour classes
Registration: - Fayette County Extension or by calling the library at 319-283-1515.

The first program will be on Tuesday, September 26th at 10:00 a.m. "Thriving in Place"
Put plans in place now that support your ability to continue independent living for the years ahead. Identify your priorities, assess your current environment, and explore home modifications to age in place safely.

Following Programs are:
October 25th at 1:00 p.m. "Brain Health"
Healthy habits support healthy brains!
November 6th at 10:00 a.m. "Planning Ahead" Planning now allows you to make decisions about future care that are based on your wishes.
December 11th at 10:00 a.m. "Final Arrangements" Thinking about mortality-your own or that of a loved one-is difficult. Making final arrangements involves more than planning funeral.

Iowa City Ghost Hunters

Join us to learn about their investigations in the paranormal and the techniques they use to help others. Iowa City Ghost Hunters is one of Iowa's premier teams, formed in 2012. ICGH is dedicated to helping others gain peace of mind by helping to explain what is and is not paranormal through the use of modern techniques and documented evidence acquired duringinvestigations.
