This is a traveling exhibit to U.S. public libraries that makes financial literacy fun.
The exhibit will be at the library April 4th-May 7th, 2022.

Thinking Money For Kids
Grand Opening Event
Monday, April 12th 2022
5:00-7:00 p.m.

Explore the exhibit. Visit the activity booths.
Earn Book Bucks to spend in the Library Store.

You will earn one Book Buck at every booth you visit, every program you attend and when you checkout books with a money theme.

Now, Let’s have some fun…

Welcome Booth: Pick up your bag of goodies. This
includes a coin purse to hold your Book Bucks. Learn about the upcoming programs.

ISU Extension Booth: Pick up information on finances for all ages. Learn about their fun programs.
Magician Booth: Watch the close up money magic with Craig Steven!

Design Booth:  Design your own currency for display.
Snack Booth: Buy a yummy snack with your Book Bucks.
Money Matching Game Booth: Match the coins with the toys for sale.
Where in the World Game Booth: Can you
identify the money from around the world?

Would You Pay $100 for...Game Booth: You
decide if the item on display is worth $100.

Button Maker Booth: Choose a design and make your own button.  

 

Thursday Afternoon Programs

April 14th 4:00-5:00 p.m.:  Why Save?
Learn why saving your money is important.
Decorate your piggy bank to be put on display.
We will be painting. Please wear something you don't mind getting paint on.

April 21st 4:00-5:00 p.m.:  Needs and Wants & SMART Goals
Youth will learn the difference between things they want to have and things they need to have.
Using the SMART method, youth will set a short term, intermediate, and long term goal. Its never to soon to begin!

April 28th 4:00-5:00 p.m.:  Money Management  
Youth will work on setting up a simple budget and learn how to spend their money wisely on items important to their daily lives.

May 5th 4:00-5:00 p.m.:  Game Day!
Play the “Spending Game” and the “Allowance Game” Take your piggy bank home and start saving!
